Woolworths Heathwood
Distribution Centre
Woolworth’s $184 million Heathwood Distribution Centre, powered by Versa’s advanced electrical solutions, is designed to streamline supply chain efficiency by ensuring Woolworth’s freshest foods reaches their customers.
Located just outside Brisbane’s CBD, this award-winning, 42,000 square metre temperature-controlled facility provides optimal storage conditions for chilled and frozen products guaranteeing Woolworths’ ability to provide safe and fresh food to their customers.
Equipped to process over a million cartons of food per week, this semi-automated centre holds Versa’s expertly installed Medium Voltage switchboards including the revenue metering main switchboard and 11kV power transformers, which help support the high demands of the facility.
Additionally, an advanced automated air bridge connecting with the meat distributor removes approximately 390 truck movements from Brisbane roads each week, significantly enhancing delivery speed and reducing environmental impact.
Powering this innovative project, Versa promptly supplied all switchboards and medium voltage transformers for a fast-tracked project, supporting the builder's ability to complete the project ahead of schedule.
With a 2.5MW solar panel system- over 4,000 solar panels and an ammonia refrigeration system with zero global warming potential, Versa is proud to be associated with Heathwood’s green initiatives that support the facility’s pursuit of a 5 Star Green Star rating.

YouFoodz Berrinba
Distribution Facility
YouFoodz made a transformative move into a 13,700m² distribution facility, consolidating all three production sites along with marketing, head office, and distribution under one roof.
Supporting YouFoodz’s growth journey, Versa played a pivotal role in powering this versatile facility by supplying all medium voltage transformers and switchgear.
This advanced Berrinba facility significantly boosts production capacity, supporting the Australian local primary producers who supply 90% of YouFoodz’s ingredients.
This modern design will streamline food handling processes and industry leading food safety standards, setting YouFoodz apart in the healthy and convenient meal market.
Versa’s innovative solutions provided outdoor switchgear and medium voltage transformers to this project ensuring reliable, efficient energy for the multi-functional site.
Key facts about the project:
Outdoor medium voltage 11Kv switchgear
3 outdoor transformer kiosks 1.5 MVA each
Rio Tinto Weipa
Solar Farm
The Weipa large-scale solar farm marks the first use of renewable energy to power critical mining operations in a remote area, far from Australia’s main electricity grids.
The project was run using 4MW PV solar generation and 4MW of BESS across two separate sites in the Weipa township. Both sites had a SEL Metering RMU connecting to the 22kV town network owned and operated by Rio Tinto.
Aiming to offset ~5,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, the innovative project sets a precedent for the mining sector, demonstrating the feasibility of required processes that operate renewable energy systems in off-grid locations.
Versa delivered an SEL S.p.A. outdoor solution designed for the product to endure harsh environmental conditions. This includes heavy dust pollution from bauxite mining and extreme conditions such as very high rainfall and humidity during the wet season.
By reducing costs without compromising quality, Versa carried an innovative solution which demonstrates our commitment to exceed industry standards and maintain a competitive edge.

Key facts about the project:
Snowy Hydro 2.0
Globally renowned energy project, Snowy Hydro 2.0, is the largest renewable energy commitment in Australia and the future of the nation’s journey into cleaner, low-cost energy usage.
The second phase of the Snowy Hydro project involves linking two existing dams with a 27km waterway system. It also includes the construction of an underground pumped-hydro power station, which will feature six reversible turbines capable of generating instant power during peak times.
Versa is working with the team at Snowy Hydro 2.0 in maintaining the SEL S.p.A switchgear and SEA S.p.A transformers that are installed across all substations within the project.
Producing 2,200MW of additional energy capacity, Snowy Hydro 2.0 will be built to increase energy generation and storage that can be supplied for the next 150 years.
By using recycled water for energy production that is stored between existing operational services this project prevents excess water usage, lowers energy costs, and ensures a more reliable supply of electricity during wind or solar ‘droughts’.
Versa believes that our partnerships that were selected for this monumental project highlight the exceptional quality and value of the products we offer.
